Bronco Comeback?

Yes they simply service the old patents and trademarks so no one snaps it up, but interestingly they filed a second patent relating to Bronco...

The original from 1964 and renewed once again in April 2015

And this is the second from February 2015

Who knows... Is The Ford Bronco Getting Ready To Make A Comeback?

I doubt it because Ford will do anything to protect the F-150. They killed the Ranger and told all the Ranger owners that what they really wanted was an F-150, people said FFS. A Bronco would only function in the same way, it would be based on a short F-150 for sure... The only way they do it is if they call it F-150 Bronco so they call roll it into F-series total volume...

That's what I was thinking, why work to thin out their truck efforts. Being an entirely new truck it would add unnecessary production costs and might not churn out anything too significant to the brand.

Diversifying the F-150 is what i'd like to see, make a strong product stronger.

Depends, if it uses a shortened F150 and assorted components they could probabaly use the same assembly line and charge a premium for the product, they could be well into the Gravy...

SVT Bronco, EcoBoost Bronco... Could be a RIDICULOUS rival for the wrangler...

I like the way you think here.

Fiat-Chrysler is running the Wrangler factory in Toledo, Ohio at triple shifts because they can't build enough Wranglers. Ford could really clean up if they offered an F-150 based Wrangler competitor named the Bronco. Bring it Ford!

Valid point, with that cost cutting effort in place it's one more step closer to making this happen since these days that's what i've noticed car makers are looking for to greater justify products.

its not cost cutting its consolodation. Toyota is the model for modular production. Its the CapEx that kills, when you need to retool a factory for the new model year or redesign or whatever. Toyota has these assembly lines now that are so basic and simple they can pick them up and go home at will if they really wanted.

Ford has put so much into the F150 name and brand. I don't think they have a good reason to not use it.

its true, but again its about the sales, if they offer it as a derivative of f50 sure, the sales stay in the same bucket, but to make a new model and divert from the franchise and the glory, no buecnoooooo
