siezn An impact only possible with speeds really high, but lets not get too caught up in that, irrelevant here. Stick to what will be more common to happen.

If you're hitting HARD enough for it to distort you can bet that engine has been pushed into the firewar and the front is probably completely ripped off. Think about what you're suggesting...

siezn the rest of the frame should be okay, we're not seeing the entire thing in that GIF

That depends on the impact, how fast you were going, how intense it is.

Jackson If the front frame is designed to take on a full on crash then I'm sure it can handle a pothole or curb. Not sure exactly how much force it is designed to absorb. I'm sure they figure that out in testing, but I'm not sure if it is ever released to the public.

Syndikat I'm curious about the 'crunch horn' as they call it, whats the impact threshold. I'm wondering if a hard enough lick from a pot hole or curb will crunch the front frame rails...

The automaker’s engineers also looked at the frame of the truck, focusing their efforts on what they call the front crush horn. It’s the chunk of the frame that absorbs force in a frontal crash. It’s crucial, because every bit of force sucked up isn’t applied to the structure that surrounds the occupants. The engine compartment gets crunched so the driver doesn’t.
