I have had trucks most of my life and have finally decided to get a Raptor. I will not own a V-6 though. So, anybody got any inside info on the "alleged" 5.0L TT alternative? When I get one, it will have either the 6.2L V-8 or the 5.0L TT, if such an option actually exists. I have to able to tow my Contender 30T with whatever I get, and towing 9000+ lbs with a V-6 just goes against common redneck logic.

Welcome.

Sounds like you may need another type of truck. Raptors, with a V6 or a V8, are not made for towing......

They do list towing capacity as 8,000, so that's something to consider and what I see about the boat he mentioned is comes in around 5500LBS. Should be in the clear for towing.

Unless you have an alternative you recommend.

Welcome to the forums. What's wrong a six cylinder though? These trucks are going to be plenty powerful enough. And if you want even more power, I'm sure the aftermarket will oblige in due time.

I had assumed the manufacturer would have taken towing large items like a boat into consideration. I think the raptor can tow around 8,500 pounds?

It all depends on what the demographic of buyers actually do and surely Ford being who they are have that all figured out, they don't get to this high station in the game by not serving customers well enough.

How many Raptors do you see hauling something? How many F250's do you see hauling something? Even regular F150's.
