605 HP Ford F-150 Raptor Now Exists

Already the most powerful factory half-ton F-Series ever built by Ford, the 2017 F150 Raptor just wasn’t enough for the Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE), thus the 605 horsepower Raptor was born.

HPE has been modifying cars since 1991 with a list of impressive brands under their belt including Porsche, McLaren, Lotus, and Ferrari. They’ve now expanded to include SUVs, sedans, and pickup trucks including the new F-150 Raptor.

Dubbed the Velociraptor 600, Hennessey managed to lift the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine’s output from 450 hp and 510lb-ft of torque to 605 hp at 6,000 rpm and 622lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. That’s a staggering 155 hp increase and the Velociraptor can accelerated from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

This was all possible thanks to the installation of larger turbochargers, larger front-mount intercooler, freer-flowing air intake system and a catback exhaust system. Combined with an engine tune, the boost pressure was increased from 18psi to 21psi.

The performance numbers sound great, but a 600+ horsepower F150 Raptor doesn’t come cheap. Limited to just 100 vehicles for 2017, the VelociRaptor 600 will set you back $22,500 on top of the F-150 Raptor’s MSRP. The factory Raptor starts at $50,155, so the cheapest VelociRaptor would still cost a hefty $72,655.

The numbers may be impressive, but Hennessey has a horrible reputation and nobody should be going to them for anything. God only knows what they'll put in your vehicle and when you'll get your pickup back.

Yea there's no way I would trust Hennessey touching any of my vehicles. There's been way too many issues and problems brought up in the not so far past that immediately turns myself away from them. I would actually like to know how many people still go there.

Apparently enough to keep them afloat. They do a good job with cars belonging to locals since the owners can check up on their car's progress, but tough luck for international customers.
